Getting Back Online and On the Air

After leaving regular blogging for almost a decade and succumbing to the trend of short social media, I am entering a new stage in my life where I am once again focusing on my amateur radio hobby, and I decided that I wanted to document my journey again.

This website will be a work in progress over the next few months. However, the goal is to have regular posts, projects, and general updates starting now.

What’s changed since the last post?

I’ve left the profession of Information Technology (IT) and entered the world of teaching IT. I’ve relocated back to Indiana, cue in Jim Neighbors’ “Back Home Again in Indiana.” I finally attended #Hamvention two years ago and have tickets to go again this year.

We have a granddaughter now. Bought a hopefully soon-to-be small hobby farm, and are learning more and more about how to grow and raise a good portion of our food. We are also trying to cultivate hobbies that can help in emergencies and provide supplemental income if needed.
Some of the upcoming posts will update you on events from the last nine years, and others will discuss our current activities.

What Ham Projects can we expect?

I am slowly preparing a #gokit or #potaportable station using an Elecraft KX3. I purchased an Icom D-Star repeater and plan on getting that on the air this year. I also want to start building antennas again because, as many of you know, radios tend to work better when they are hooked up to antennas.

Please keep an eye on this location for more updates as time progresses.
