Athens Regional Medical Center hosted a Ham Cram/Learn and Earn day on Saturday the 8th of November. I volunteered my time to be a VE for the test session following the completion of the class. It was a great success.
We had 21 test takers and 18 passed. One upgrade to General and 17 new Technicians. I do not think there could have been a better results.
A few lessons learned, we needed to move the table farther away from the testing tables. When some of the testers were waiting in line to turn in their tests and then their results, they were getting too loud for some the those that were still taking their tests.
For the amount of test takers, that started thier tests all at once we cold have used a few more VE’s. 7 just were enough, but more would have been more effective.
I was amazed how many different organizations that were represented. I think there were members 5 clubs or other organizations there as facilitators during the class, or VE’s during the test session.
